Banff National Park is a popular tourist destination in Canada. So, it’s no surprise that hotels in Banff National Park are very expensive. Also, the supply is less than the demand. So, the hotels in Banff get sold-out pretty early, sometimes months in advance.
If you are looking for cheaper hotels near Banff, then look for hotels in Canmore. Canmore is a small town very close to Banff. From Canmore, you can reach Banff in under 30 minutes by car or by bus and the hotels in Canmore are cheaper than Banff hotels. Here is my list of the Top Canmore hotels.
Cheap Canmore Hotels
#1. My First Pick For The Best Budget Hotel In Canmore Is The Drake Inn
This inn has excellent location close to downtown Canmore. I have personally stayed at The Drake Inn and enjoyed my stay there. My room had amazing views of the Three Sisters peak and the Police Creek. Most rooms face either the mountains or the Creek. There is also an onsite restaurant and bar. The inn has free WiFi, coffee maker, cable tv, mini fridge and coffee maker. However, the inn doesn’t have elevators. So, if you have problem with stairs, make sure to get a room at ground level.
#2. My Second Pick For The Best Budget Hotel In Canmore Is Big Horn Motel
This hotel is not actually in Canmore. It is located in Dead Man’s Flats Community which is 11 km from Canmore and 33.8 km from Banff. Dead Man’s Flats is a sparsley populated area located beside the Trans-Canada Highway. Apart from a few hotels and the Three Sister’s Campground, there is nothing much here. The Bow River flows close by the campground which is worth investigating. The highlight of staying here is the views of the mountains that you can see from every room. Also, the hotel has cable TV, fridge and free WiFi.
#3. My Third Pick For The Best Budget Hotel In Canmore Is Rundle Mountain RV Park
This RV park is next to Bow Valley Trail Close to the Trans-Canada Highway. The accomodation is as expected in an RV, which is quite spacious. Each RV has a kitchen, flat-screen TV, free WiFI, microwave, toaster, sofa, beds and toilets.
#1. My First Pick For The Best Pet-Friendly Hotel Is Fenwick Vacation Rentals
This condo-style hotel is a luxurious pet-friendly option. Each condo has a living room, a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, complimentary WiFi. There is a heated pool and hot-tub. These condos are great for families.
#2. My Second Pick For The Best Pet-Friendly Hotel Is Rocky Mountain Ski-Lodge
This hotel is located close to TransCanada Highway and also has excellent access to downtown Canmore. Since the hotel has a clear view of the Three Sister’s peak, the rooms also have wonderful view of the mountains from their room. Some of the rooms come with a fully equipped kitchen and gas fireplaces.
#3. My Third Pick For The Best Pet-Friendly Hotel Is Days Inn by Wyndham
The Days Inn by Wyndham is a low budget pet-friendly option. The hotel provides standard facilities with free Wifi and free continental breakfast. The highlight of this hotel is the amazing view of the mountains that can be viewed from the patio/balcony of the rooms.
These hotels are the epitome of luxury with apartment type layouts, terrace/ balconies overlooking the fantastic Rockies, and separate kitchen and living areas. Check out my top picks.
#1. My First Pick For The Best Luxury Hotel In Canmore Is Falcon Crest Lodge By Clique
The Falcon Crest Lodge is a condo-style or Aparthotel with separate living and sleeping places just like a regular house.
The difference between your own home and this hotel is that it has breath-taking views of the Rockies from the balcony or patio. Other amenities include fitness centre, flat screen tv, washer/dryer, a barbeque grill and free WiFi.
#2. My Second Pick For The Best Luxury Hotel In Canmore Is Beautiful Mountain Condo
This is also a condo-style hotel with a fully equipped kitchen and a grill in each room. The hotel has facilities for disabled guests which is it’s strong suite. It also has free Wifi and free parking which can save you some money.
#3. My Third Pick For The Best Luxury Hotel In Canmore is Luxury Canmore Vacations
Each hotel room comes with a view of the Rockies and a grill on the balcony. Need I say more? If that doesn’t convince you then how about a hottub on the roof overlooking Mt.Rundle. I don’t know about you but I am sold! The free parking, WiFi and Fitness Centre is just the cherry on top.
